Origin Story

The band’s journey began at School of Rock, where Meredith first met Jason, Nick, and Fernando. For four months, the group spent every week rehearsing 80s covers like “Eye of the Tiger,” “Billie Jean,” and “Faith.” When the season wrapped, they realized they didn’t want to stop playing together. Originally, they planned to stick to covers, which would have been plenty of fun on its own.

However, Meredith had also been quietly co-writing original music with Matthew Amster-Burton. While she knew she wanted to front a live band, she was nervous about whether the guys would connect with her songs. The real test came when they suddenly booked a live show, leaving them with just three rehearsals to learn five originals and three covers (well, three rehearsals if you count the soundcheck!). Against the odds, the band pulled it off beautifully. The rest, as they say, is history. (Iykyk.)

What’s Next

Today, the group collaboratively writes and records new music characterized by lush guitar instrumentation, driving rhythms, layered effects, and infectious harmonies. Meredith’s twee-inspired songwriting serves as the foundation, while each of the guys brings their own fresh touches and points of view. The band is currently working on a full-length LP that feels like it couldn’t happen with any other mix of humans, and in spite of whose name is on the drumhead.

Meredith continues to be inspired by the band’s immense skill, camaraderie, and dedication. Live sets feature tracks from their EP, More than a Dream, alongside choice covers and unreleased originals.
